Film London

Film London, the film and media agency for the UK's capital, has identified three key initiatives to further develop in 2007 and beyond with the involvement of suitable lead sponsors, and has appointed Sponsorship by Design to secure a title sponsor for each project.

The London UK Film Focus is an established event to promote the international sale of independently made British film and to promote British talent around the world. This intensive industry event which takes place in late June presents a unique opportunity for a sponsor to demonstrate a tangible commitment to the UK film industry, and to become closely associated with the constant stream of emerging talent whose work, on both sides of the camera, regularly showcases here first.

The Microwave Feature Film Fund is a newly launched initiative which will provide direct funding for ten micro-budget feature films over the next three years. Established by Film London, with the involvement of Skillset and the BBC, the fund also provides a unique professional mentoring scheme to all short-listed projects, providing an invaluable resource to emerging talent in the London based film industry. The title sponsor will be closely involved in all aspects of this ground-breaking scheme throughout its three year life and will have a direct association with all ten films produced, which have guaranteed broadcast opportunity on the BBC as well as cinematic distribution potential, creating a sponsorship opportunity with unrivalled tangible returns.

The Jarman Award is a new Film London initiative, to establish a high profile annual award for artist film-makers, celebrating excellence, vision and innovation, in memory of the visionary film-maker Derek Jarman. The headline sponsor will be associated with all aspects of the award, the inaugural presentation of which will be in November 2007.
